These representatives of more than 3,500 suppliers of beer, wine and spirit in the United States came out opposed to HR 1161 in a February 14th jointly signed letter to Congress. In that letter the suppliers explained, “We do not believe that Congress should spend valuable time wading into an intra-industry squabble and unraveling a successful regulatory structure to the detriment of consumers, the industry, and the federal interest in a fair, competitive, and orderly marketplace for alcohol beverages.
